Adapted from Philippe Grimbert's bestselling novel, "A Secret" is a story of passion and guilt in troubled times, which unfolds as a young teenager uncovers the truth about his parents' past. He finds out that before the war, his father Maxime was married to Hannah when he fell madly in love with his mother Tania. As a young Jewish couple living in Nazi-occupied France, Maxime and Tania had to make difficult choices to survive the war and the Holocaust.

Drama. The story of the life of a Jewish family during and after the Second World War. An only son, Philippe has always felt he had a brother. Living an apparently peaceful existence with his parents Maxime and Tania, no one confides in anyone else and things go unsaid. But a terrible secret is eventually revealed, a secret going back to the period of the Occupation. Maxime and Tania are brother and sister-in-law. Secretly, passionately in love, they try to ignore it until war breaks out.
