In the Army: While enjoying a glorious summer's day at the beach, Pat and Patachon meet the beautiful Mona, whom they both fall in love with. However, they're soon given something else to think about when they're drafted into the armed forces and sent to a cantonment. The two friends struggle to find their place among the other soldiers, and they get into all sorts of escapades. One day, fate lends a helping hand when the company take up residence on a farm in North Zealand, where the two friends discover, to their delight, that this is where Mona lives. The Mannequins: Pat and Patachon live in the attic of an old house along with a number of other curious kinds of people. One of the residents is a fortune teller, who tells Patachon that he will inherit a fortune and marry one of the two sweet choir girls who live next door, and whom he happens to be in love with. The two friends don't think much more of it and instead head off to work, as models for a tailor. They stroll through the streets in sharp suits, in the hopes that the two choir girls will see them and think that they're wealthy men, who simply live in the run-down house to study the bohemian lifestyle. Clever Cannibals: Spirits are always high at the quayside pub The Red Rabbit. One day, adventurers Fy and Bi come by to look for work. Their luck is in! A police raid sends all the staff to prison. On the spur of the moment, two women from the upper-middle class decide to study the life of the common people by paying them a visit. A brawl ensues, and Fy and Bi chivalrously bring the two women to safety - or so they think! Before they know it, all four end up aboard a steamer in the pitch black of night, on their way to new adventures and unknown, dangerous shores. At the North Sea: Two kind tramps Pat and Patachon help reunite young lovers Karin and Tom, despite her father is against marriage. The Thunderstones: Hans and Elinor are in love, but have to meet clandestinely to avoid the keen eyes of the headmistress at the home for girls where Elinor lives. When they are discovered, they seek refuge in a Chinese gazebo used by the vagabonds Pat and Patachon as a cheap summer residence. However, the two vagabonds quickly vacate the premises to let the young couple stay there. As a thank you, Hans, who is a sailor, enrols Long and Short as part of the crew on his rich uncle's boat and invites the entire girls' institute and its headmistress on a sailing trip. In disguise, Hans hopes to spend some time with Elinor, but once again they fail to deceive the headmistress. Long and Short now come upon the idea of hiring a brickworks, whose owner turns out to be Elinor's uncle. But mysterious things happen at the factory, which does not make entirely ordinary bricks, and Long and Short find themselves caught up in yet another heady drama. Don Quixote: A self-proclaimed 'knight' and his hapless squire travel the Spanish countryside, attacking 'giants' that are really windmills in his attempt to win the love of the fair Dulcinea. The Film Heroes: Film about the comic duo of Doublepatte and Patachon who were the Laurel and Hardy of the early Danish cinema. The King of Pelicania: Princess Lola has been exiled from her native Pelicania after one of her relatives usurped the throne. She is now the celebrated prima donna of the Revue Theatre, arousing rapturous applause from audiences night after night. However, the princess has her most devoted admirers behind the scenes. The young theatre doctor Ove Helmer loves her, and our two old friends, Pat and Patachon - one now a prompter at the theatre, the other a make-up artist - regard her with the warmest affection. When the princess finally gets the opportunity to return to her native Pelicania, Pat and Patachon are eager to come along to help her assert her position. As things progress, Patachon's striking resemblance to the country's king has unexpected consequences.
