This feature-length drama was first screened in 1976 as part of Granada's Red Letter Day anthology series, and has all the wry humour and warmth we have come to associate with writer Jack Rosenthal - multiple BAFTA winner and one of Britain's most acclaimed and consistently successful television dramatists. Directed by BAFTA-winning Mike Newell (Four Weddings and a Funeral), comedian Joe Black makes his real-life TV debut as Joe McGill, and Jack Shepherd received a BAFTA nomination for his role as harassed director Phil Parish; several Coronation Street regulars also appear among the supporting cast.
