Synopsis:
No German review yet:
The Ghost Goes West: An American businessman's daughter convinces him to buy a Scottish castle but he comes up with a plan to disassemble it to ship it to America brick by brick, where it will be put it back together. The deal includes the last family heir and his cursed several-hundred year old ghost ancestor who haunts the castle waiting for the chance to redeem his family's honor. Knight Without Armor: Because he can pass as a Russian, A.J. Fothergill is recruited to spy on the revolutionary movement in Russia in 1913. He becomes imprisoned in Siberia, as a revolutionary, until the 1917 uprisings. Amid the turmoil of the civil war between the red and white armies, he tries to flee Russia along with the beautiful Countess Alexandra. The Lion Has Wings: Alexander Korda's bit for the British war effort shows the world both at peace and on the verge of Nazi domination. Spliced together to form a documentary-style movie of both newsreel and acting. This first of its kind in propaganda films of World War II, shows the might of the English Empire and its eagerness to stand up to the oppressors of morality and free will. Crude, but effective propaganda cinema that sets the tone for things to come. With its stiff upper lip attitude that pays tribute to the nation's pride and shows the black plague of Nationalism spreading across Europe that England shall be motivated, ready, and willing to retaliate. Lydia: Lydia MacMillan, a wealthy old woman who has never married, is invited by an old beau, Dr. Michael Fitzpatrick, for a reunion with the men who have been in her life to reminisce about the times when they were young and courted her. In memory, each romance seemed splendid and destined for happiness, but in each case, Lydia realizes, the truth was less romantic, and ill-starred.
