Synopsis:
Life is no bed of roses for 52-year-old Juan "Coco" Villegas. He, who has been a gas station attendant for twenty years in Patagonia, finds himself jobless overnight. He first tries to survive by selling knives of his own making. But business is bad and he can't find real work. One day though, after fixing a vehicle on a farm, he gets paid by means of a ... beautiful Argentinian watch-dog! From this blessed day on, things start shaping well at last...

Juan Villegas (52 years old) has worked in a service station on a lonely Patagonian road for the past twenty years of his life. The station has changed hands and the new owners are thinking of modernizing. Juan, as well as other employees, is sacked. Finding himself without an occupation is a real tragedy for him; at his age and without any specialization he begins to feel he has been rejected by the world. Then by chance he does a small repair job on an old vehicle in a station. The owner, an elderly lady, needs to sell her late husband's car because she's also in economic straits. When Juan finishes the job she offers to pay him with a dog but this is not just any old dog, it is a splendid example of a mastiff. Juan tries to refuse considering that such a big dog must eat more than he does. However the widow insists and ends up convincing him. From then on Juan's luck begins to change.

In Patagonia, a mechanic who dreams of a different life starts to think big after his adopted pup wins first prize at a local dog show.
