Synopsis:

Never Tell Me Never, directed by David Elfick, is a 1998 Australian biographical TV drama based on a book by the same name. Janine Shepherd (Claudia Karvan) was a strong Australian Olympic gold medal prospect, however, her dreams were shattered when she was injured in an accident. At first, Janine's doctors feared she would not survive, but she did and also continued to thrive. The film is an account of the obstacles Janine has faced and what she has done to overcome them.

Based on true events this film shows us Janine Shepherd's fight back after being partially paralyzed in a car accident. Her dream was to compete in the winter games in Calgary, but such aspiration was shattered; she lies in her hospital bed knowing she will never ski again and will never have children. But Australian women have guts: she manages to walk again and even learns to fly light planes, and more...

Based on a true story, Never Tell Me Never stars Claudia Karvan as Janine Shepherd, a champion Australian skier who is tragically struck down in a horrific road accident. Made for television in 1998, this powerful and moving film traces Janine's courageous and determined attempt to rebuild her extraordinary life.
