Synopsis:
***WARNING***Met Grote blijdschap & Iles Flottantes - NO ENGLISH SUBTITLES***

AmnesiA (2001)
A photographer returns to his parental home because his mother is seriously ill. The confrontation with his past leads to panic in a surreal, stylised psychological drama.
Monte Carlo (2001)
Monte Carlo tells the story of Constance van Tuyl van Serooskerken; a wealthy Dutch lady who wants to go on a trip to Monte Carlo to re-live a part of her life when she was married to a handsome French man in the 1960's. She wanted her son Harald to drive her there but he couldn't; due to a neck injury and he had to take care of the family business. So, Harald got his mother a chauffeur, young Danny Schat; a mechanic from a garage that Harald frequents. Much to Danny's annoyance, he had to put up with Constance's complaints and everything has to be done her way; the route to Monte Carlo, which hotels to stay, and what restaurants to eat at.
Drift (2001)
15-year-old Samantha lives with her brother Jakob (20). Their parents are divorced. The father is in a hospital because he is senile and they don't know where their mother is. Sammy and Jakob take care of themselves, largely thanks to Jakob. Sammy is growing older and wants to experience how men are like. Her brother though is very protective and sees her as the little girl he wants her to be...

Amnesia:
Alex, a 28 year-old photographer, is no longer able to photograph people, for some mysterious reason. Every time he focuses his camera on someone, the same woman appears in his viewfinder - an image he cannot bear. When his brother Aram, whom he has not seen or spoke to for years, unexpectedly phones him and asks him to come to their parental home because their mother is severely ill and may not have long to live, he panics. The thought of a confrontation with the area where he grew up and the renewed encounter with his family makes him feel nervous. Nevertheless, that evening he leaves for AmnesiA: the estate of his parents, the spot where he spent his youth.
Monte Carlo:

The widow Van Tuyl van Serooskerken wants to take one last trip to Monte Carlo, just like the old days. Her son sets her up with a driver, an unknown young man working in his garage, the twenty-year old Danny Schat. Danny only wants to know one thing: What's in it for me? Miss van Tuyl isn't too fond of Danny. He will take her to Monte Carlo? Nevertheless, she's bound to Danny, because nobody else will drive her. Danny should take the exact same route as Miss van Tuyl took 47 years ago, taking the backroads, passing the old hotels and stopping places. A three-day trip in her old Mercedes Benz. Because the two of them don't hit it off quite well, Miss van Tuyl sets a few rules. For one, Danny isn't allowed to smoke nor talk during the trip, and has to follow her instructions. Halfway into Belgium, Miss van Tuyl discovers Danny doesn't have a driver's license, and that he keeps a pistol in his bag. Tension rises as Danny finds out Miss van Tuyl doesn't have any valid money, only a purse full of old francs. Danny feels used and wants to return home. Miss van Tuyl finally tells him the true reason for the trip; in Monte Carlo she keeps a secret bank account. She wants to collect the money to no longer be dependent on her son. On arrival in Monte Carlo, she's willing to pay Danny double. Even more. Danny agrees; He'll pay for the traveling expenses, but the tables are turning. He will no longer be treated as staff, and wants to decide what route to take.
Drift:
In this provocative melodrama from the Netherlands, Sammy (Christel Oomen) is a 15-year-old who has recently become very keenly aware of her sexual needs and her allure to men. With her parents away, Sammy and her older brother Jakob (Dragan Bakema) have to look after themselves, with Jakob bringing home the bacon (literally) working in a meat-packing plant. Sammy thinks that her brother is overly attentive and wants him out of her life; she goads him by seducing his best friend's dad, and when that isn't enough, she begins to make advances on Jakob, much to his distress. The first feature from director Michiel van Jaarsveld, Drift was shown in competition at the 2001 Rotterdam Film Festival.

The Set contains 5 Award Winning Dutch films: Amnesia, Drift, Monte Carlo, Met Grote blijdschap. AmnesiA (2001)

But the misadventures and comical situations that they encounter; from picking up two hitch hiking tourists, a visit to a french winery, non-payment of hotel fees, and Constance's holding up of a petrol station (which attracted the French police) results in the odd couple becoming close friends.
