Synopsis:

The Key (1983)
A husband and wife lock their diaries in a drawer and also know that they read each other's entries, a device which takes them from one sexual encounter to another.

After twenty years of marriage, art professor Nino Rolfe attempts to break down his wife Teresa's conventional modesty. Noticing her affection for their daughter's fiance, Nino investigates her sexual interest in him as well. This sets off a chain of unexpected events and emotional complications, as Nino and his unpredictable fascist daughter find that they both enjoy being jealous.

While waiting years for her MIA husband to return, Miranda continues to manage their pension in a serene country village. Into this picture enter a bartender, and old fascist council, a young truck driver, and an American ex-soldier, who all soon come to be Miranda's admirers. Taking his inspiration from a true incident, erotic maestro Tinto Brass crafts this delightful morality tale of a young couple's journey toward discovery through infidelity. Paolo is thrilled that his wife Diana is still sought after, and takes delight in her tales of flirtations and adventures.
