Synopsis:
A 50-year-old university lecturer who is in love with a young political activist involved in the circumstances surrounding the death of a policeman. For the lecturer, this is the start of a new life.

Carsten leads a comfortable, middle class, if mundane, life as a middle-aged secondary school teacher. His affair with a much younger former student and political activist, Pil, provides a link with his youth when he too, was politically radical. When Pil becomes involved in a dramatic incident, Carsten is forced to confront the tensions between ethical ideology and emotional security.
