Synopsis:

Jan Landers has it done: he is newscaster in Hamburg. Grown up in East Berlin, he made his career in the years after the turning point from the local weatherman to the evening news anchor. His private life is also successfull - in the gallery-owner and brewery-heiress Margarethe he meets the woman of his life. Yet unexpectedly the East-German past overtakes his life... A 'Spiegel' - editor and a province journalist circulate a story about possible files , vague rumours and the changed past, alleging that Landers might have worked for the Stasi (East German state security service). As a precaution he is taken off the news program. After years of finally living in the West, the East catches up with Landers...
