Synopsis:

Per its title, Chinese Boxes plays the riddle-wrapped-in-a-mystery-wrapped-in-an-enigma angle to the hilt. Will Patton plays an innocent American who finds himself in the middle of international intrigue. With West Berlin as backdrop, the story takes so many twists and turns that one may well need a book of directions by fadeout time. Robbie Coltraine and Gottfried John are among the supporting actors who are not what they seem and never say what they mean. Chinese Boxes was a fairly smooth German/British collaboration, with little indication of any on-set communication breakdowns (surely somebody understood what was going on).

Langdon Marsh (Will Patton - Armageddon, The Last Ride, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Entrapment, The Punisher) is trapped in a ghostly, neon-streaked Berlin after an associate is killed and a diplomat's daughter is found dead in his room. Cornered by unknown enemies and implicated in a drug smuggling conspiracy, a mysterious 'customs' man (Robbie Coltrane - Harry Potter, Van Helsing, The World is Not Enough, TV's 'Cracker') offers him a way out of this hell, but only as a pawn in a duplicitous, gun-toting game. Caught in a complex web of murder and international intrigue, can he get out alive?

An American (Will Patton) in West Berlin finds himself caught up in murder and intrigue after his associate is killed and a diplomat's daughter is found dead in his room.
