Synopsis:

A man walking on the beach near New York City finds the corpse of King Kong. He also finds Kong's orphaned son, and takes it to a friend who lives in the city, and they decide to raise it. |

New York. Lafayette works at a museum and with a women's theatre group. He is raped by the women and starts an affair with one of them. He also finds and cares for a monkey which gets civil status when false papers are secured for it. Lafayette is unable to cope with any true emotion, and the girl and her child are the only survivors.
