Synopsis:
In July 1941 in reprisal for the escape of a young Silesian from the concentration camp at Auschwitz, the Commander of the camp condemns ten prisoners to starvation. When one of them collapses, a Franciscan priest, Maximilian Kolbe sacrifices his own life instead. From now on the Silesian is not only fleeing from the Gestapo, but also from his own guilt.
