Synopsis:

A six-part British gothic thriller that tells the mysterious tale of a young British woman and a strange bequest made to her of substantial property on the west coast of Norway from a man she did not know. When Catherine Durrell travels to the small fjord town that is the site of her inheritance, peculiar things begin to occur and events become more mysterious and menacing after her arrival.

Catherine Durrell receives a legacy from a Wealthy Norwegian, she travels out to find out why and the reasons behind her benefactors sudden generosity.

Shadows S1, Ep2 12 Feb. 1985

Catherine fails to find reasons for her inheritance, she gets closer to journalist Anders Bjornson and meets Astrid Linderman an elderly relative of Jordahl. She visits the Island and finds a disturbing discovery.

In Possession S1, Ep3 19 Feb. 1985

Catherine is convinced someone is living on the Island, she and Anders investigate, and enquire about Freya's state of mind before she died. Lars is troubled over damage to his cruiser in light of Catherine's accident.

House of Secrets S1, Ep4 26 Feb. 1985

Catherine and Lars become closer. Ingrid's mental decline seems to continue, Catherine confides her fears in Doctor Albrigtsen, showing him Ingrid's paintings. Catherine is left a nasty surprise.

Catherine unearths Freya's diary, it contains strange entries, implying Freys's alive. Anders gets the handwriting tested. Catherine's left another warning, visiting the house she makes a shock discovery.
