Synopsis:

A dash of magical realism and the ghost of Albert Einstein turn the typically trite tale of the out-of-touch father and his rebellious teenage daughter into over-the-top satirical glory in Francois Desagnat's Daddy Cool. Daniel Auteuil (nerdy microbiologist) and Juliette Lamboley (faux-rebel hottie) play a clueless father and a 15-years-estranged daughter. Romantical slo-mo scenes, a ludicrous daddy boot camp, and a raging rave in the woods make this film light, funny, and so French.

Philippe Tallec is a successful molecular biologist who has lived in America for 15 years-the entire life of his estranged teenage daughter. When his ex-wife is called out of France for three months, he decides to return to stay with Eglantine in the hope of making up for lost time. But Eglantine has other things on her mind, like girlfriends, parties, and hot boys at school. Philippe, for his part, is out of his depth. Far from bringing them closer together, his heavy-handed approach threatens to drive them further apart. Ever the man of science, he decides to take a course on parenting, which he hopes will enlighten him as to the mysteries of modern adolescence, including texting, heavy metal, belly button rings, and blogs. Daniel Auteuil stars in this family-friendly comedy about a father and daughter learning to love and live with each other.

Philippe Le Tallec, a brilliant scientist living in the United States, is forced to return to France to look after his daughter Eglantine whom he has never raised. He hopes to take advantage of this opportunity to create a true bond with her and to catch up for lost time. But the fifteen-year-old has other things in mind than spending time with her family: girlfriends, parties, and most of all, boys.
