Synopsis:
Showgirl Murders:
Mitch and Carolyn run a bar that is not very financially stable. One day Jessica, a girl with a mysterious past, walks in and help turn the tables so to speak by dancing on them and taking her clothes off. This leads to the bar turning into a strip club and Mitch becoming more and more attracted to Jessica and less attracted to his alcoholic wife. Plans are soon devised to make Mitch's life more satisfactory but Jessica's past slowly creeps up on her and comes out in the open.

Európa expressz:
This Hungarian action-thriller pits clever gangsters against the cops -- only this time, the gangsters are Russian. Zavarov (Zoltan Ratoti, a psychotic Russian thief who likes to steal religious icons, is on the run from a group of undercover cops who don't know Zavarov has planted an informant among their number. When Zavarov makes his getaway on a train, only to discover the police were able to board before leaving the station, he hijacks the train and demands passage to Austria or else. This crime drama was shown as part of the 1999 Hungarian Film Week Festival.

Pups:
Two bored suburban kids looking for something to do get trapped in the wrong kind of excitement in this independent drama. Stevie (Cameron Van Hoy) is a boy in his early teens, depressed and out of sorts, who half-heartedly attempts suicide without having the wherewithal to go the whole nine yards. When his girlfriend Rocky (Mischa Barton) shows up on her way to school, Stevie has just found his mother's gun while poking around the house. As they head off for class, Stevie brings the pistol along. They pass a bank along the way, and Stevie impulsively dashes in and decides to rob the place. Before Stevie and Rocky can get away, police and FBI agents arrive on the scene, and Stevie announces he's taking the customers inside the bank hostage. FBI negotiator Daniel Bender (Burt Reynolds) is sent to the scene of the crime; while it's quickly obvious to him that these are two kids pulling a prank that got out of hand, they're also armed and in the middle of a very dangerous situation, and Stevie's bursts of adolescent rage aren't making things run any smoother. Financed by a Japanese production company but written, directed, and starring American talent, Pups had its premier screening at the 1999 Los Angeles Independent Film Festival -- only two days before two armed high school students went on a tragic killing spree in Littleton, CO.

Gleaming the Cube:
Gleaming the Cube does for skateboarding what Over the Top did for arm wrestling -- i.e. not a hell of a lot. Christian Slater is the skateboarding star, playing Brian Kelly, a sneering and laconic teen outcast. He feels left out and envious of his adopted Vietnamese brother Vinh's (Art Chudabala) success as an honor roll student and as the center of attention in his family. When Vinh commits suicide, Brian is suspicious and rolls away on his skateboard to find out what really happened -- and ultimately to avenge his murder. Brian's investigation is aided and abetted by a sardonic detective named Al Lucero (Steven Bauer), a collection of skateboard aficionados, and an incredibly attractive Vietnamese girl, Tina (Min Luong).

Visions of Murder:
After a distraught woman, Gloria Hager, consults San Francisco therapist Jesse Newman and is later found dead, Jesse experiences a very real vision of Gloria's murder. She fears her sanity is in jeopardy when she tells the authorities she suspects Gloria's husband, Truman, and her ex-husband Hal, a police officer, is the only one who champions her cause.

Wolfridge:
The story is a convoluted tale about an older Navajo wise man murdered by an insane villain.

Twilight of the Dogs:
An apocalyptic space opera with a beautiful alien heroine and an evil reverend.

Law & Order - Corruption:
An officer-involved shooting during a drug sting turns out to be a murder for hire ordered my a major drug trafficker. During his testimony in front of a corruption tribunal, the officer accuses Briscoe of stealing evidence in a case several years earlier.

Temple of Desire:
Erotic Thriller
