Synopsis:

Alexandra is a grandmother who has come to see her grandson, one of the Russian officers stationed in the Chechen Republic. In this male environment she discovers a new world, devoid of women, warmth and comfort where questions of life and death are decided.

Chechen Republic. Rresent day. A Russian military encampment. Grandmother Alexandra Nikolaevna comes to visit her grandson, one of the best officers in his unit. While spending a few days with him, she discovers a whole new world. In this male dominated environment, there is no warmth or comfort. People do not express their feelings. Instead, every day and every hour, questions of life and death are decided.

An elderly woman takes a train trip to visit her grandson at his army camp inside Chechnya.
