Synopsis:

Pamela Segall gives a winning performance in this gender-bending comedy about a girl who wants to be a boy and gets her wish. 14-year-old Milly Niceman's 'deepest, darkest heart's desire' is to be a boy, as she feels that boys' lives are simpler and more interesting than girls' lives. After her best friend's brother sells her an 'eclipse powder,' she wakes up in the middle of the night to discover that she has grown a boy's thing. When she becomes a boy, calling herself Willy, she finds that her girlfriend has now developed an amorous interest in him/her. Willy also makes friends with a handicapped boy named Alfie (Eric Gurry), who also confesses his 'unnatural desires' for Willy. Finding that being a boy is as confusing as being a girl, Willy wishes upon a star to be changed back to a girl.

Milly is annoyed whenever her mom tells her to behave more appropriate for a girl. She's just not interested in fancy dresses or prom dances. Some day her best friend's little brother offers her a potion which can make her deepest wish come true during a solar eclipse. She goes through with it and ends up with male genitals, additionally. So she has to decide if she wants to life as boy or girl. Her father, who always wanted a son, supports her in checking out life as a boy. Hence Milly changes school and starts out as Willy.

Unwilling to grow up and face womanhood, Milly decides to become a boy. She tries a magic spell during an eclipse, and it works. She then has to learn to live as a boy. She eventually must make a decision as to which sex she wants to be.
