Synopsis:
Tovariche: I Am Not Dead explores the remarkable story of Garru Urban as his son set out to reveal the cleverly constructed truth of his father who survived both Nazi concentration camps and Russian gulags, and may or may not be an international spy.

In 1992, filmmaker Stuart Urban followed his father Garri into the former Soviet Union as soon as Communism disintegrated. The documentary features video diaries that were made over a 14 year quest into Garri's KGB records and the fate of his family in the Holocaust, plus extensive 16mm Kodachrome home movies from the 1950s onwards.

Garri Urban, survivor of Holocaust and Gulag and author of the autobiographical book of the same title, revisits the sites of his horrors and triumphs, 50 years later.
