Synopsis:
Danny La Rue stars as Fred Wimbush, a Shakespearean actor who has been drafted into World War II and as such is appearing in a camp show in France when the Nazis advance. In order to escape without being shot as a spy he must continue his guise as a woman!

World War II becomes a drag when a soldier is forced to play the part of the heroine in an army play. Going on stage just as the Germans occupy France hes taken as being a glamorous actress and offered protection by a Nazi General. And thats when the Mata gets very Hari indeed.....
