Synopsis:

Jody (Leelee Sobieski) is an aspiring Hollywood filmmaker and still jobless - that is until the studio head of Grind Productions comes calling...... Grind is an adult film company that wants Jody to edit their new film, Finding Bliss. She soon finds she has all the facilities needed to make her own heart-felt romantic movie on the sly, so she edits porn by day and films her storybook romance by night. . . .until she gets caught. Rather than being fired, Jody is allowed to use the facilities if she re-writes their lackluster porn script and turns it into an art-house movie. But during the re-write, Jody and director Jeff (Matt Davis) form an unlikely relationship. Determined to let nothing stand in her way, Jody befriends Laura (Denise Richards), the star of the movie, and soon realizes that life is a classic struggle between good girls and bad boys, art and commerce, idealism and selling out.

An award winning film school graduate is forced to confront her sexual hang-ups when she makes the move to Los Angeles and reluctantly becomes an editor at a profitable pornography studio. Jody Balaban (Leelee Sobieski) is a twenty-five year old filmmaker who's about to get a rude awakening. Despite Jody's collegiate success, she's still unemployed a year after graduating, and she's about to be faced with one of the most difficult decisions of her life. Jody isn't a fan of pornography, but it seems that an editing position at Grind Productions is her best shot at earning a steady paycheck. With great reluctance, the idealistic Jody goes to work cutting skin flicks by day, and scheming to make realize her own personal vision as a filmmaker by night. Before long, Jody Grind Productions director Jeff Drake (Matthew Davis) have become fast friends. Much like Jody, Jeff was once a "serious" filmmaker with ambition to spare. Jeff sees a little of himself in Jody, though these days his youthful idealism has long since given way to jaded cynicism. Meanwhile, as Jody begins feeling aroused by the very films she once judged so harshly, she realizes that the only way to truly live free is to finally face her own sexual hang-ups.

Aspiring filmmaker Jody Balaban takes a job at a porn studio, planning to use the company's lush facilities to secretly film her own movie after hours. When Jody's ruse is discovered, she's forced to collaborate with infamous porn director, Jeff Drake--an initially fractious relationship that simmers into an unexpected romance.
