Synopsis:

It would seem that Rex is extremely happy in his adopted city of Rome. There is just as much work as there always was in Vienna, and in this extended series, Rex will encounter dolphins, phychologists, gamblers, models and cellists - all in a day's work for a fine canine detective. A SPECIAL BONUS for the viewer is a movie-length special episode set in Vienna. Starring: Kaspar Capparoni, Fabio Ferri & Pilar Abella.

At the end of season 9, Rex is shot and lying motionless on the beach, but is shown in close up still slightly breathing just before the credits roll, it was uncertain whether he was dead or not.
The good news for fans is that Rex is alive and back in a brand new series. The action is still in Rome with Inspector Lorenzo Fabbri in charge of Rex (or vice versa).
