Synopsis:
Poetic and visually arresting, mockumentary 'iXieme' records the last 200 days of a prisoner's house arrest, before he disappears. Electronically tagged with a chip, prisoner and protagonist Eric Suger is confined to his four walls in an anonymous high rise. His only contact to the outside world consists of visits from his talkative parole officer, a couple of friends and, as Suger descends into increasing loneliness, from prostitutes. Shot on digi camera, longing and alienation are expertly conveyed through striking imagery and sound effects. The filmmakers make subtle and often humorous critiques of an atomized society where everything is available online apart from true companionship and love.

Written and directed by Pierre-Yves Borgeaud, this experimental mockumentary centers around Eric Suger, whose life is becoming increasingly lonely. His visitors include a self-absorbed parole officer who is more concerned about the progress of his own love life than doing his job, a variety of eccentric friends, and prostitutes. Eric's world becomes more surreal as each moment passes. Neighbors die unnoticed and the Internet becomes a merchant for everything except true camaraderie. The film is marked by psychedelic digital effects and features Louis-Charles Finger, Celine Bolomey, Vincent Kucholl, Jean-Marc Morel, Penelope Pierson, Christine Brammeier, and Tania Nerfin.

The prisoner, Erik Suger, a 38-years old physicist and bachelor, was condemned for a computer crime. We do not know whether it was intentional or not. He talks about his particular form of confinement. With an ordinary digital camera he films his ordinary apartment, his ordinary life. Little by little, he overcomes the passive acceptance of his situation and begins to examine and question the interior and exterior limits of personal liberty.
