Doctor in Love: Soon after qualifying as doctors, young Burke (Leslie Phillips) and Richard Hare (Michael Craig) set up in practice and get involved in a number of amorous exploits.
Doctor in Distress: When the usually ranting Sir Lancelot (James Robertson Justice) becomes gentle and considerate the hospital becomes positively alarmed, until Dr Sparrow (Dirk Bogarde) diagnoses the trouble - love.
Doctor in Clover: More comical situations at St. Swithin's Hospital when Grimsdyke (Leslie Phillips) returns for a course and develops a rejuvenating drug.
Doctor in Trouble: The final film in the series. The madcap doctor team are at it again. This time Dr Burke (Leslie Phillips) stows away on a cruise ship when his girlfriend is assigned a modelling job abroad the vessel.

Doctor in the House (1954) Simon Sparrow is a newly arrived medical student at St Swithin's hospital in London. Falling in with three longer-serving hopefuls he is soon immersed in the wooing, imbibing and fast sports-car driving that constitute 1950's medical training. There is, however, always the looming and formidable figure of chief surgeon Sir Lancelot Spratt to remind them of their real purpose.

Doctor at Sea (1955): With a view to escaping both boredom as a junior G.P. and unwanted womanly advances, young doctor Simon Sparrow becomes a medical officer on 'the Lotus', an all-male cargo ship. As soon as he sets foot on board, Simon encounters various eccentric characters and gets involved in many an embarrassing situation. In Rio he gets to know Helene Colbert , a sexy young French singer and falls under her spell. When woman hater, Captain Hogg, is forced to take on two female characters, Muriel Mallet, the daughter of the shipping company and her friend... Helene on his freighter, Simon is delighted!

Doctor at Large (1957): Dr. Sparrow graduates and sets out into the world. Hilarious internships with a miserly doctor and his young wife, a country doctor paid in kind not cash, and a quack specializing in rich neurotic women. He applies for a surgery position at a hospital, insults the senior surgeon, then rescues one of the hospital's governors and finally gets his place on the staff.

Doctor in Love (1960): Doctors Burke and Hare leave the confines of St Swithins for the world of general practice, stopping off on the way as patients at the Foulness Anti-cold Unit. Hare then takes up a position as junior in a well-healed G.P.'s surgery while Burke continues to sow his doctorial wild oats.

Doctor in Distress (1963): The stuffy medical director of a big-city hospital and his nemesis, a cheeky young intern, finally come to a subject they can both agree on: they're having romantic problems. The director has fallen in love and isn't quite sure how to handle it, and the young doctor is pursuing a beautiful model who apparently doesn't reciprocate his affections.

Doctor in Clover (1966): Leslie Phillips is the main doctor in the story, looking for love and romance from the hospital nurses, much to the annoyance of the main Administrator (James Robertson Justice) who wants his doctors to be 100% focussed on the job. Numerous antics follow, with Phillips getting Justice fixed up with the new prim-and-proper Matron (Joan Sims) and his attempted failures to lure the hospital's beauty, the physiotherapist.

Doctor in Trouble (1970): Dr.Burke is in love with Ophelia but doesn't have time to propose to her as she leaves for a cruise to the Mediterranean. Also on board the cruise ship is an old school chum of Burke's who plays 'Dr.Dare' in a very popular TV series and who women flock to. Burke (Phillips) decides to join the cruise, but is first apprehended as a stowaway, and then becomes the captain's steward. For Burke, trying to talk to Ophelia is a hard enough task, but he meets some funny characters on board.

Based on Richard Gordon's best selling novels, this hilarious collection of seven classic British comedies stars a wealth of talent and screen legends. Set in St. Swithin's Hospital, it follows the antics, adventures and mishaps of a group of medical students and their quest to become doctors.
