Synopsis:
This movie is an account of US Navy Commander James Stockdale's 8 year imprisonment in North Vietnam. During his confinement in such camps as the infamous 'Hanoi Hilton', Stockdale, among other senior officers, led a resistance group against the North Vietnamese, facing torture, isolation, and starvation in attempts to break their wills. Back in the US, Stockdale's wife, Sybil, begins working with other POW wives to try to get information on their husbands and to inform the world on their treatment.

This biopic chronicles the eight-years downed navy pilot Jim Stockdale spent in a North Vietnamese prison camp. Though he endured torture and sub-human living conditions, Stockdale remained loyal. Even when forced to betray his country on video-tape, Stockdale sent an encoded message by blinking his eyes to let the American authorities know that he had been tortured into a confession. Eventually Stockdale went on to become a US senator.

North Vietnam, 1965. Navy pilot Jim Stockdale suffers the repeated tortures given by his captors, but he vows to himself that he will never confess what he knows. Meanwhile, his wife Sybil, struggles to hold her life together with little or no news of her husbands captivity.
