Synopsis:
Bold, irreverent and satirical, Money follows the story of John Self (Nick Frost), a successful British director of commercials who is thrust into the world of New York movie deals, shark agents and impossibly petulant actors in order to shoot his first film. Navigating larger-than-life characters including uber-slick film producer Fielding Goodney (Kartheiser), wooden soap actress Caduta Massi (Jerry Hall), clean-living method actor Spunk Davis and ageing Hollywood hard-man Lorne Guyland, Self lurches from one crisis to the next as he chases his dream - and the money.

Season 1

Season 1, Episode 1: Episode #1.1
Original Air Date-23 May 2010
Tubby slobbish John Self, director of television commercials, goes to New York to direct his first feature,'Money', about an amoral,drug-pushing family, with hearty,money-obsessed producer Fielding Goodney. Ageing sex symbol and screen legend Lorne Guyland is on board. A mystery man phones John each night, seeming to know everything about him and detailing his faults. Back in London he has sweaty sex with girl-friend Selina, gets billed by his father for everything he ever gave him from childhood upwards and discusses his screenplay with puzzled writer Doris Arthur. After Selina briefly leaves him he returns to New York to iron out problems with Lorne and secures middle-aged glamour girl Caduta Massi for the film, though she refuses to do nude scenes with body-proud Lorne, whom she hates. The mystery caller persists and John makes a drunken fool of himself with married old flame Martina, failing to account for a whole evening when he was apparently beaten up. Young actor Spunk Davis joins the cast, creating more problems as his religious zeal opposes just about everything in the script. Then comes the next late night call requesting "Your life...everything you've got."

Season 1, Episode 2: Episode #1.2
Original Air Date-26 May 2010
After getting Spunk to change his name to Hunk John lunches with Martina whilst her husband Ossie is in London but makes a drunken pass at her, alienating her.He returns to England where Selina, pregnant by Ossie, with whom she is having an affair, leaves him. Dissatisfied with Doris's gloomy script,he does a re-write which earns the praise of the cast as well as the sinister mystery caller. Sex with leading lady Butch Beausoleil is followed by a night in the sack with Martina, happy to be comforted after Ossie's dumping her for Selina but then Selina turns up to sabotage John and Martina's relationship. The mystery caller is revealed. He is a person who has been out for revenge all along and there is no film and no money for John, who returns to London. All his belongings are re-possessed and he learns his real father is the landlord at his local pub but he is happy to go into business with him, using money left by his mother years earlier.
