Synopsis:

Jeff Fahey, best known as the star of The Lawnmower Man, headlines director David Fairman's supernaturally-tinged psychological thriller. The actor stars as Richard Murray, a forensic pathologist in charge of the local mortuary, who lost his wife in a tragic road accident. When a series of bodies turns up - all women, and all brutally murdered - the Los Angeles Police Department assigns a detective to the case; meanwhile, Richard grapples with both troublesome memories of his late wife and the discovery that mysterious messages are cropping up on his email server, all apparently originating with the murder victims. As he delves ever deeper into the case, he arrives at the sudden, shocking conclusion that he knew each of the women, and worries that he might have rubbed them out in a drunken state, as he concurrently (and paradoxically) makes valiant attempts to reach the next victim before the killer.

In England, the American pathologist Dr. Richard Murray still grieves the death of his wife Carol eight months ago in a car crash. He is drinking too much whiskey due to his guilty complex since he had a love affair with a woman when Carol left home, and he has frequent blackouts, forgetting what he has done in the previous drinking night. Meanwhile a serial-killer is attacking women in the location, and the experienced American cop DCI Collins and the psychologist Frances Beale are invited to help the local police in the investigations. When Dr. Murray receives messages from beyond, he meets his friend Father Randall seeking spiritual support and explanation.

Messages is a relentlessly suspenseful horror thriller in the vein of The Sixth Sense with a stunning and horrifying twist ending. Jeff Fahey (Grindhouse, Lawnmower Man, Psycho III, Wyatt earp, White Hunter Black Heart) leads a terrific cast with a mesmerising and touching performance as a man whose internal struggle with guilt deepens as he becomes the primary suspect in a violent series of murders. Director David Fairman combines sheer horror with an emotional storyline to create a chilling film that's always one step ahead of the audience.
