1. CIA
2. FBI
3. KGB
4. M15
5. MI6
6. Mossad
7. SOE
8. 20th Century Spies

Disc 1. CIA
This programme is the comprehensive and fascinating story of the most visible agency in the world, the US Central Intelligence Agency. From the Cuban missile crisis and the Vietnam War to its modern role of countering the spread of weapons of mass destruction and drug trafficking, the CIA's influence in world affairs has been significant. This programme reveals the covert world of the CIA.

Disc 2. FBI
Since 1935, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been America's national crime-fighting and counter-espionage agency. Its history includes the G-Man era, the interception of Nazi agents in World War II, the hunting of communists in the 1950s and its role in the post Cold War world. This programme traces the successes and failures of America's national police force, the FBI.

Disc 3. KGB
For nearly 40 years the cutting edge of Soviet intelligence was the Committee of State Security, better known as the KGB. Established in 1917 as the Cheka, the KGB operated on a worldwide scale and grew to be larger than all the Western intelligence agencies combined. At its peak it exerted an iron grip from the Balkans to the Black Sea. It is an incredible story!

Disc 4. M15
The MI5 was outstandingly successful in both World Wars as well as the Cold War. Today, the agency faces new challenges in maintaining national security. This programme looks back at the agency's past from its inception in 1909 through to its modern responsibilities of countering terrorism and the spread of weapons of mass destruction.

Disc 5. MI6
Britain's Secret Intelligence Service grew out of the need to combat Imperial German and then Bolshevik Russian ambitions in the early part of the century. It enjoyed spectacular success during World War II such as the breaking of the Enigma codes. It also played a crucial role in countering the Soviet threat during the Cold War.

Disc 6. Mossad
Born in the crucible of Israel's war of independence in 1948 and honed in the constant struggle for survival, the country's intelligence service gained a fearsome reputation for ruthlessness. Whether tracking down criminals like Adolf Eichmann or eliminating the terrorists of the Palestinian Black September movement, Mossad allowed nothing to stand in its way.

Disc 7. SOE
Britain's secret wartime Special Operations Executive was responsible for training hundreds of secret agents who were dropped into Nazi occupied Europe to fight the enemy behind the lines. It was an unconventional conflict fought in the shadows against a merciless enemy. It had one overriding objective, voiced by the British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill - "Set Europe ablaze!"

Disc 8. 20th Century Spies
The great clashes of nationalism, imperialism, communism and fascism provided the backdrop for the 20th century spy. The lives of Mata Hari, Sidney Reilly and Lawrence of Arabia are just a few of the colourful characters in our survey of the most daring and outrageous individual spy cases to have been publicised in the 20th Century.
