Synopsis:
Killer's Moon is Britain's answer to I Spit on Your Grave... only nastier. Produced in the late seventies it mixes lurid scenes of rape with dollops of ultra-violence and Clockwork Orange Droog style menace. Its story follows four drugged-up mad men who have escaped from the local asylum and seek refuge in a remote hotel where a class of stranded school-girls are staying. This is a true video nasty and is amazingly co-written by award winning author Fay Weldon. Remastered and featuring many extras including director/cast interviews and an audio commentary featuring director Alan Birkinshaw in conversation with JoAnne Good who played one of the menaced schoolgirls. A must for the collection!

Four criminal psychopaths escape from a prison hospital in the Lake District. They find a hotel, closed for the winter, where a group of girls are sheltering after their bus has broken down. The girls are captured by the psychopaths, and two men on holiday in the area try to rescue the girls. Re-shown at the 'Ten Years Of Terror' one-day film convention held at Hammersmith, Riverside Studios in 2001. The film was introduced by director Alan Birkinshaw who advised the audience 'not to take the film too seriously!' Due to the strong content (animal cruelty, rape and murder) the film would not be passed UNCUT today, and remains unavailable in any version at present.

Teenagers will go camping, they will have sex, and they will wander aimlessly around on lonely roads in the dead of night. If you liked this by-rote formula in Friday the 13th, chances are you'll like Killer's Moon. Nothing's really new about the main character, an escaped murderer who slashes only when the moon is full. The novelty comes in the awe-inspiring variety of methods he uses to slice and dice his victims. Though Killer's Moon is certainly full of screams, shocks and gushing blood, 92 minutes' worth of audience attention may be a bit too much to ask for.
