Synopsis:

Featuring the best of children's fairytales characters such as Alice in Wonderland, Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan and many more Eleanor's Secret is a beautifully animated tale about the importance of being able to read. When their beloved aunt Eleanor dies, Nathaniel and his family are left the house where they have spent every summer and Nathaniel has been bequeathed all the books in the library where he makes a startling discovery - after dark all the characters come to life! They tell him that to save them from extinction he must read the magic spell in the library. There is only one problem - Nathaniel can't read. In a race against time, Nathaniel must battle against all the odds, including a wily antique dealer who wants to buy all the books from his parents, to save his new friends. A charming film for all ages.

Nathaniel, aged 7, goes to spend the summer holidays in the seaside villa that belonged to his old aunt Eleanor. Nathaniel's parents inherited the villa and Nathaniel also received a gift in his aunt's will: a whole library of old books. The inheritance doesn't much interest him until he discovers that the books are inhabited... Captain Hook, Alice and even the Wicked Fairy live in these books, which are the ORIGINALS of every fairy story! Better still, these tiny heroes of children's literature need Nathaniel to protect them. All he has to do is to read the magic inscription in the library to keep them alive. But Nathaniel still has problems with reading and before he can decipher the inscription the books are sold to a secondhand dealer. Nathaniel, now shrunk by the Wicked Fairy to the size of the storybook heroes, surpasses himself to save his tiny friends and their stories, even to the point of facing up to an ogre, or battling with beach crabs that are now giant size!

Natanaël, seven, still doesn't know how to read. His eccentric old aunt bequeaths her house to his parents and her book collection to the young boy. Nat discovers that the books serve as a shelter for all the heroes found in children's literature. They are the original characters and are counting on him for protection. For if they leave the library, they will disappear along with their stories forever! When his parents start selling off the books, Nathanaël, who is shrunk by the evil witch Carabosse, braves everything to save his tiny friends.
