Synopsis:

Suzy's a British soldier, born and bred, but fitting back into civilian life after fighting in Iraq isn't easy. Haunted by the responsibility she feels for the death of an Iraqi child, she becomes obsessed with the safety of her own daughter, feeling the need to protect her against a threat that doesn't seem to exist. As Suzy's paranoia builds, her behaviour becomes more and more erratic, until finally, she puts her own child in serious danger.After Suzy and a fellow soldier, PAUL, took part in a hearts and minds mission that resulted in the death of a child, she's unable to escape the immense weight of the guilt on her shoulders. Once at home, Suzy is haunted by the memory of the Iraqi girl and becomes obsessively protective of her own child, perceiving threats where there seem to be none.

On arriving home to a hero's welcome, it's clear from the moment she sets foot in her house that something's not right. After Suzy and a fellow soldier, Paul, took part in a hearts and minds mission that resulted in the death of a child, she's unable to escape the immense weight of the guilt on her shoulders. Suzy is a British soldier who returns home from a hearts-and-minds mission in Iraq, deeply affected by her experience, and struggles to settle back into civilian life. Her attempts to get reacquainted with her young daughter, who initially barely recognises her, are draining, while her insecure squaddie husband Mark is threatened by both her choice of career and her choice of company. Unable to keep the ghosts of her military tour at bay, her behaviour becomes increasingly erratic.
