Synopsis:
A collection of 15 Euro-sleaze horror films from cult director Jesus 'Jess' Franco. Films featured are: 'Marquis De Sade: Justine' (1969), 'Eugenie: Marquis De Sade's Philosophy In the Boudoir (1969), 'Barbed Wire Dolls' (1975), 'Downtown' (1975), 'Jack the Ripper' (1979), 'Ilsa - the Wicked Warden' (1977), 'Blue Rita' (1977), 'Love Camp' (1977), 'Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun' (1977), 'Sexy Sisters' (1976), 'Voodoo Passion' (1977), 'Macumba Sexual' (1983), 'The Sexual Story of O' (1984), 'The Inconfessable Orgies of Emmanuelle' (1982) and 'Mansion of the Living Dead' (1985).

Marquis de Sade: Justine (1969)
Romina Power (18-year-old-daughter of Tyrone Power) stars as Justine, a nubile young virgin cast out of a French orphanage and thrust into a depraved world of prostitution, predatory lesbians, a fugitive murderess (Mercedes McCambridge), bondage, branding, and one supremely sadistic monk (an outrageous performance by Jack Palance). It's a twisted tale of strange desires, perverse pleasures and the ultimate corruption of innocence as told by the Marquis de Sade. JUSTINE is one of the most lavish and bizarre erotic shockers ever made by the notorious Jess Franco, bursting with wanton nudity, sexual perversion, and an all-star cast that also includes Akim Tamiroff (TOUCH OF EVIL), Maria Rohm (EUGENIE, 99 WOMEN) and Klaus Kinski (NOSFERATU) as the Marquis de Sade.

Eugenie: Marquis de Sade's Philosophy in the Boudoir (1970)
Animation film tracing human evolution from a tree climbing primate to modern man. Illustrates skill and social developments such as self-defence in groups, tool-making, hunting, discovery of fire and language development.

Barbed Wire Dolls (1976)
After killing her father who had attempted to rape her, Maria da Guerra is sentenced to prison for life. The wardress is a sadistic lesbian without mercy or humanity. Upon her arrival Maria is taken to a special section for mentally disturbed prisoners where torture and rape are part of the day-to-day reality. One day the Regional Governor arrives, claiming to have received a letter from one of the prisoners describing incredible events in the prison. The writer of the letter was clearly unaware that the Governor is also part of the conspiracy. Carlos Costa, a male nurse pretending to be the prison doctor Moore, falls in love with Maria. After seducing him, Maria kills him with a pair of scissors and escapes with her friends Bertha and the disturbed Rosario, hoping to find safety in the Governor's house, unaware that he will not help them...

Down Town (1975)
In Puerto Rico, a down-on-his-luck private detective is hired by a woman to take compromising photos of her husband, a notorioous nightclub owner. After he finishes the job, he finds himself hauled in by the police, who inform him that the nightclub owner has been murdered--and that he is the prime suspect.

Jack the Ripper (1976)
A Swiss-German horror film with Klaus Kinski as the notorious Jack the Ripper. A respected doctor by day, Kinski dismembers London prostitutes by night, until the local Inspector's girlfriend (Josephine Chaplin) goes undercover to catch him.

Ilsa, the Wicked Warden (1977)
Jesus Franco's campy women's prison film, though both stereotypical and rare to find in its original version, is worthwhile for genre devotees primarily due to an outstanding cast. Mercedes McCambridge is unintentionally hilarious as sadistic lesbian warden Thelma Diaz, spitting tacky dialogue with exuberant venom in a performance so overbearing that it verges on classic. The plot is standard for the genre, as three women (Maria Rohm, Elisa Montes, Luciana Paluzzi) are sentenced to an island prison off the Panamanian coast, only to encounter torture, rape, and lesbianism. When sympathetic Warden Caroll (Maria Schell) replaces Diaz, the prisoners assume that conditions will improve, but their agony only worsens until they decide to escape. Rosalba Neri co-stars, and Herbert Lom runs the corrupt men's prison nearby.

Blue Rita (1977)
Blue Rita runs a popular nightclub and brothel as well as working for several crime organisations. Having been abused in the past she and her lesbian followers show no mercy to any spies, or politicians that they meet.

Love Camp (1977)
A group of women are kidnapped by guerrillas and brought to a jungle brothel where they are forced to work as prostitutes for the soldiers. Those who refuse to cooperate are decapitated by the cruel, sadistic wardress of the camp, who is privately interested in some of the women herself. One day guerrilla leader Gino da Guerra, who came up with the idea of opening the brothel for his soldiers, visits the place in search of some fun with one of the 'prisoners'. However he falls in love with her and tries to help her to escape. But he didn't take into account the sadistic wardress who has also developed an interest in the girl...

Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun (1977)
16-year-old Maria is forced into Serra D'Aires convent, secretly run by Satanists. Her confessor is in collusion with the Mother Superior. Maria is tortured, forced into sex with men, women, and the horned Devil, and told that it's all a bad dream. She writes a letter to God, and a Knight rescues her, only to fall into the hands of the Inquisition, put on the rack, and condemned to death like Joan of Arc.

Sexy Sisters (1977)
With Sexy Sisters (Die Teuflischen Schwestern, 'The Devilish Sisters'), profligate Eurosleaze maestro Jess Franco again indulges his penchant for the sexually provocative and perverted, only this time without the sadomasochistic torture of the many Women In Prison films he made during this same period. Here the cruelty inflicted is strictly mental rather than physical.

Voodoo Passion (1977)
Susan arrives in Haiti to live with her husband Jack, who lives with a lesbian housekeeper and Olga, a nymphomaniac platinum blonde, introduced to her as Jack's sister. Susan begins to have nightmares about voodoo ceremonies and murder.

Macumba sexual (1983)
Jesus Franco's surrealistic voodoo film stars Ajita Wilson as Princess Obongo, who lives in a strange castle on a sunny desert island. Through sexual rituals and seduction of vacationers, the princess seeks to spread her evil around the world. A rather bizarre, dreamlike film recalling Franco's Vampyros Lesbos, this one benefits from the powerfully erotic performance of Wilson, who died in 1987 amidst strong rumors that she was a transsexual. Franco regulars Lina Romay and Antonio Mayans co-star as her intended victims, and the director turns in a funny cameo as a voyeuristic janitor who collects stuffed fish.

The Sexual Story of O (1984)
Odile is a beautiful and young American tourist who is seduced by a couple who are staying at the same hotel she is. The couple slowly gains her trust before selling her as a sex slave to a woman named Princess Bombaqui. Odile loses herself in the throws of passion as the seduction become more sadistic and bizarre with the consequences of her actions leading to dangerous climax.

The Inconfessable Orgies of Emmanuelle (1982)
After a history of lovers, Emmanuelle finally marries the man of her dreams and the couple honeymoon in a quaint village. The two are so enamored of each other they can't help but screw on the floor of a wax museum. A drunken visit to a bar leads to Emmanuelle engaging in lesbian sex with a stage performer, setting into effect a whirlwind series of extramarital shenanigans that cause the disruption of the marriage. Attempting to reconcile with her husband, Emmanuelle is gang raped by three hooligans. But this violent event flicks a switch in her psyche, resulting in her believing she is destined to be a whore for the remainder of her life.

Mansion of the Living Dead (1985)
Four strippers get a great deal to on a vacation at a remote island resort. They soon find out why it was such a great deal when they learn the place is empty except for them, the Gardner and the hotel manager. Little do the women know that something sinister has been going on this island and one by one they soon find out its terrible secret.

With over 190 movies to his name, Jess Franco is without a doubt one of the most active and prolific directors in the history of European cinema. His unique style and creativity have garnered him a vast cult following over the years and a reputation as being the master of erotic exploitation. Anchor Bay is proud to present this collection of fifteen sexually-charged classics from the underrated genius of superlative art-house. Containing digitally mastered versions of his most revered work including Eugenie: Marquis De Sade's Philosophy in the Boudior (starring Christopher Lee), Barbed Wire Dolls, Jack The Ripper (starring Klaus Kinski) and Mansion Of The Living Dead, this is the definitive collection for any Jess Franco fan.
