Synopsis:
After her uninsured car gets broken into, Ashley decides to take on a roommate and invites the beautiful Carrie, mid 30s, to move in with her to help with the rent. Carrie is a recent divorcee who was forced to get a waitressing job after her husband-who is serving time in prison for killing his mistress-left her penniless. Of course this strange past isn't something that Carrie openly shares, and Ashley believes Carrie has simply been living with a friend who recently passed away. Carrie and Ashley, despite their age difference, have become good friends and at first, the housing arrangement works out well. At least that's what Ashley believes… What Ashley doesn't know, and neither does her bartender boyfriend Matt, is that Carrie's been targeting Ashley for quite some time, trying to get close to her so she could get even closer to Ashley's rich dad, Richard Dunnfield.

Being her roommate puts her in the perfect position to get to know Richard. There's an instant attraction between them and a relationship, unbeknownst to Ashley, begins to blossom. When Ashley finds out that her roommate is dating her somewhat estranged father she's furious, and Carrie does the best she can to smooth out the situation. Ashley comes around, realizing she can't fight against her father's control and then try to tell him who not to date, but when she begins to find out about Carrie's checkered past, something doesn't sit right. Catching Carrie in a lie and determined to find out the truth about the woman she's let into her life, Ashley enlists the help of Ethan, Matt's law enforcement brother, to find out more about her ex-husband's murder. Unlocking that door sets off a chain of events in which Ashley becomes increasingly sure that Carrie's got some skeletons in her closet and the more invested Richard becomes, the more he puts himself in danger. When Ashley discovers the awful truth-that Carrie and her childhood friend Anna are really the ones behind the mistress' murder-Ashley knows she must tell her father what she's learned. Unfortunately, Carrie's not ready to give Richard up and will do anything to protect her secret… even if it means adding one more victim to the list of murders… Ashley.

When a college student takes on a roommate to help with expenses, she begins to suspect that the woman has really befriended her simply to get closer to her wealthy father.
