Synopsis:
This off-beat western is a freely-adapted remake of the violent film noir Kiss of Death. The story centers on a naive thief, Dan Hardy, who is captured after a bank robbery and placed in a jail cell alongside the maniacal, vicious Felix Griffin. O'Brian gets himself into deep trouble when he tells Griffin where he hid the loot, a location that only O'Brian's partner knows. As soon as Griffin is released, he begins a shocking, and graphically depicted, killing spree as he tries to get to the cache of cash. In desperation, the lawmen arrange to release Hardy so he can find the psychotic O'Brian and stop him.

O'Brian plays a man sharing a jail cell with crazed psychopath Evans after being caught robbing a bank to bail himself out of financial trouble. Stupidly, he tells Evans that he stashed the money and only his partner knows the location. Soon after, Evans is released and goes on a brutal rampage to get the money. Shocking brutality is depicted as Evans does everything from feeding ground glass to an unfortunate victim to forcing the miscarriage of a pregnant woman. The authorities allow O'Brian to escape so that he can track down the savage Evans, which he does. The big showdown ends in a barroom from which Evans does not exit. Loosely based on the Ben Hecht-Charles...

To gain access to the City Bank gold storage vault, bank robber Dan Hardy feigns drunkenness and then offers the teller a swig from his jug. Once the clerk opens the door, Dan knocks him unconscious, and the three other robbers, led by Paul Finney, sneak in the back and open the safe. As Dan enters the vault, the clerk regains consciousness, slams the door shut and then jumps through a window to alert the town. After struggling in vain to open the door, Finney and the rest of the gang flee, leaving Dan behind to be arrested...
