Synopsis:

The Home Front is about conflicts in our private sphere: feuds between neighbours. The film follows Mogens Peuliche, a boundary inspector, who mediates between disagreeing neighbours. We enter the homes of the feuding parties to learn about the conflicts from both sides. Why is it so difficult to solve a conflict so close at hand? And what do hedges and fences represent? Is this really what the conflicts are all about?

In the film we follow the Danish inspector of boundary lines on his diplomatic quest to make feuding neighbors agree, and we enter the homes of the fighting parties to hear about the conflict from both sides of the hedge. What happens when an argument about a tree turns into 30 years of bitter bickering and fierce fighting? And more importantly: Why is a seemingly simple conflict always so damn difficult to resolve?
