Synopsis:

In space, a malfunctioning nuclear powered spy satellite explodes mysteriously and is about to crash into Los Angeles. To stop the disaster, the American government tries to bring the satellite down using lasers before it hits the Earth. When a laser beam from the American base station hits the satellite, the satellite emits a tremendous energy which is focused on a suburban area in California but mostly over the Monroe High school. The impact of the beam transports Monroe High School 200 years into the future. At the time of the blast, a psychotic cult leader, Thomas King (Billy Drago) who has just escaped from the police, runs into the school and is also transported into the future where he uses his hypnotic powers on both the adults and kids in an attempt to re-establish his following. During the battle with King and some genetically mutated humans, the kids lead by Kenny Scott (Drake Bell) realize that one of them still has a telepathic link to the past and uses this to send information to themselves in the future.
