Synopsis:
Three former schoolmates meet twenty years later and realize to have had their respective lives ruined by the ever-present 'favorites'. Max (Luca Argentero) is a talented journalist of a local daily newspaper, just about to be permanently hired, when the daughter of a famous writer gets his job. Irma (Paola Cortellesi), one of the most appreciated doctors at the hospital, is about to sign her contract, when the head physician's new girlfriend is offered her position. Samuele (Paolo Ruffini) is a genius of penal law and, after years of traineeship, gets his long-awaited academic chair stolen by the boss' incompetent son-in-law. Ten years of exams, degrees, and masters seem to have meant nothing for the three friends, who then decide to rebel against the system, by driving the life of each other's 'favorite' crazy. Until the situation slips through their fingers…

Three friends in different fields band together to fight the system of nepotism that rewards those with the right connections in this lively, Florence-set social satire. Journalist Max, doctor Irma and law professor Samuele all see their job opportunities fizzle when less qualified people are selected for positions in their respective workplaces. Bonding over their misfortunes at a high school reunion dinner, they decide to take revenge in a variety of outrageous ways. From dosing a conference participant with LSD to dognapping, the trio risk their jobs and imprisonment trying to expose the graft that is rife in Italian society. Amusing and trenchant, with an adept and comically gifted cast, the film offers lighthearted hilarity with serious intent.
