Synopsis:

During his film's promotional tour of the international festival circuit, a director wanders around with a small cinecamera in search of a character or impulse for his next work. In the form of a travel diary, Guest shows the director's film. In the apparently casual interweaving of every one of these travels notes pulses a film: the situation, the conflict, the character that it could create.

Filmmaker Jose Luis Guerin documents his experience during a year of traveling as a guest of film festivals to present his previous film. What emerges is a wonderfully humane and sincere portrayal of the people that he meets when he goes off the beaten track in some of the world's major cities.
