Synopsis:
Carla Del Ponte, the attorney general of Switzerland earned a reputation as a fierce adversary of organized crime. She was asked to head up the International Criminal Tribunal For The Former Yugoslavia, an international judicial group created to deliver indictments against war criminals responsible for genocide in the former nation. While the Tribunal could indict and try war criminals, it was up to others to actually arrest the suspects and deliver them to the court. Many nations were reluctant to take part in international justice and some of the bloodiest figures in the "ethnic cleansing" of Serbia and Croatia walk free. Despite this, Del Ponte has become known around the world as a woman with a fierce passion to see justice done in the Eastern Bloc. This documentary examines the public and private faces of Del Ponte.

La liste de Carla, a 95-minute documentary directed by Marcel Schüpbach, tells the story of the battle Ms del Ponte waged with her team to advance the cause of justice, while in Bosnia, ten years after the events in Srebrenica, women wait for the arrest and imprisonment of those who carried out the massacres. This is the first time a camera has gone behind the scenes at the ICTY to follow proceedings, from The Hague to New York by way of Belgrade, Zagreb, Luxembourg and Washington DC.

At the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, one woman fights for justice and the extradition of the last remaining war criminals on the run. Their names are Ratko Mladic, Radovan Karadzic and Ante Gotovina, wartime leaders of Bosnian Serbs. Her name is Carla Del Ponte, the Swiss-born, chain-smoking chief prosecutor.
