Synopsis:
Quirky romantic comedy based on Mario Vargas Llosa's novel 'Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter' and transposed to New Orleans. Set in the 1950s, the film stars Keanu Reeves as Martin Loader, a young newswriter for a struggling local radio station which, in an attempt to boost its ratings, has just taken on an eccentric new scriptwriter, Pedro Carmichael (Peter Falk), to write a daily soap opera. Simultaneously, Martin's aunt Julia, not related to him by blood, returns home after two divorces and many years away, and Martin finds himself falling in love with her. When Pedro finds out about their blossoming romance, he starts using it as creative fodder for his drama series - and it isn't long before Julia and Martin are hearing every detail of their 'fictionalised' affair broadcast to the entire region.

Tune in Tomorrow is based on Mario Vargas Llosa's novel, Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter. In New Orleans, circa 1951, a news writer for a local radio station, Martin Loader (Keanu Reeves), meets and falls in love with his aunt Julia (Barbara Hershey), a divorced woman who is looking for a new husband. Meanwhile, new-in-town eccentric radio-soap-opera writer, Pedro Carmichael (Peter Falk) has been hired to help boost the station's bad ratings. Pedro begins manipulating Martin and Julia's affair and using it as the basis for his radio show. Director Jon Amiel uses the same story-within-a-story construction from The Singing Detective, the miniseries that he directed for British television.

Martin works at the local radio station, which just hired a new scriptwriter with a reputation for great drama, Pedro Carmichael. Martin's aunt Julia, not related by blood, returns home after many years away and Martin falls for her. Once Pedro finds out about this romance, he starts incorporating details of it into the script of his daily drama series. Soon, Martin and Julia are not only hearing about their fictional selves over the radio, but about what they are going to do next.
