Synopsis:

When gruff Professor George Edward Challenger proposes to the Royal Geographic Society of London the possibility of a "Lost World" populated by prehistoric creatures not seen on this earth for 50 million years, he is given the opportunity for an expedition. Joined by reporter Edward Malone, big game hunter Peter Roxton, and Amanda, the daughter of Challenger's late nemisis, Challenger sets off on a journey to the edge of the earth. There, they encounter a world of dinosaurs, as well as an ancient race who make sacrifices to their dinosaur gods. Based on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, THE LOST WORLD is a thrilling adventure.

Not to be confused with Steven Spielberg's sequel to Jurassic Park, this fantasy adventure (also known as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Lost World) also centers on dinosaurs discovered in the modern world, this time in a remote part of Mongolia during the 1930s. Apparently the ancient creatures were flash-frozen millions of years ago and then thawed out. The late explorer Dr. George Challenger (Patrick Bergin) discovered them. Now his daughter, a journalist, an aging scientist, and a villain team up to prove Dr Challenger's findings. During their journey, the team encounters many fantastical things, including a tribe of Neanderthals. This feature contains a few gory scenes that may be unsuitable for young children.

Professor Challenger puts forward the idea that prehistoric creatures - not seen on earth for fifty million years - are in existence and calls for an expedition into the hills of Northern Mongolia to prove or disprove this... This unlikely crew includes an elderly scientist, a journalist, a bad guy, the daughter of the now-deceased man who reportedly first discovered the dinosaurs, and our fearless leader, Dr. George Challenger. They discover a remote plateau that is home to prehistoric creatures and savage natives...
