Synopsis:
Eddie Marsan (Vera Drake, The Disappearence Of Alice Creed) and Romola Garai (The Hour, Atonement) star in this gritty urban drama about life on the harsh streets of London. Frank is an ex-soldier plagued by disturbing memories of an unspeakable past whose life collides with a young homeless girl which blossoms into an unlikely friendship. As the pair's relationship develops, their association is disrupted by the appearance of Lynette's psychotic drug-dealing boyfriend Danny (played by rising star Tom Sturridge, The Boat That Rocked, On The Road). After insinuating himself into Frank's flat, it becomes apparent that things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. Junkhearts is the debut feature film from BAFTA winning film-maker Tinge Krishnan, and a striking example of British independent film-making.

Frank is an ex-soldier, haunted by a violent past. He lives alone, drowning his nightmares with alcohol. Lynette, a young rough sleeper sits in the cold waiting for loose change to fall on her lap; but her luck seems to change when she meets Frank who despite his misgivings, offers her a place to stay. Their relationship blossoms. For the first time in years he sobers up and life takes on some meaning. But Lynette is not all she seems. Recruited by her drug dealer boyfriend, Danny, to find a new base for his dealing, she has targeted Frank. When her genuine fondness for him and their emerging friendship takes her by surprise, she attempts to break away from her previous life.

Frank is an ex-soldier, haunted by a violent past. He lives alone, drowning his nightmares with alcohol. Christine - smart and successful... on the surface, tackles life as a single working mother by immersing herself in drugs, parties and sex. Lynette, a young rough sleeper watches Christine stumble out of a club whilst she sits in the cold waiting for loose change to fall on her lap; her luck seems to change when she meets Frank who despite his misgivings, offers her a place to stay.
