Synopsis:

THE STORY OF THE KELLY GANG (1906) is arguably the first feature-length fiction film ever produced. Originally running at over 60 minutes when it premiered in Melbourne on 26 December, it went on to thrill audiences, first across Australia and then worldwide. Over the past century, however, much of the footage had been lost. After an exhaustive global search and 25 years of painstaking work, the National Film and Sound Archive has collected 17 minutes of the original footage, overseeing a meticulous digital restoration which is presented here for a new generation of viewers.

The Story of the Kelly Gang is a 1906 Australian film that traces the life of the legendary bushranger Ned Kelly (1855-1880). It was written and directed by Charles Tait.
