Synopsis:
A veritable feast of classic B-films from the 70s and 80s, back when local movies exploded onto Australian screens with a bang and a bare bum, and maverick filmmakers served up a diet of murder, mayhem and full frontal nudity. Celebrated in the hit documentary Not Quite Hollywood, six of these 'Oz-ploitation' genre films are presented here in one hilarious mash-up of sex, violence, action-adventure and laugh-out-loud comedy!
ALVIN PURPLE (1973): Alvin Purple is a young, naive man who is thrust into a series of saucy adventures where women are attracted head over heels and find him sexually irresistible.
ALVIN RIDES AGAIN (1974): More experienced than ever before, Alvin (Graeme Blundell) continues on with his madcap sexual odyssey - living life to the fullest.
STORK (1971): Tale of an awkward, footy mad, beer swilling young man who knows just what he wants but forever struggles to find it.
NUMBER 96 (1974): Discover why the nation couldn't get enough of the wildest apartment block ever seen on the small or big screen.
BMX BANDITS (1983): The wheel-spinning adventures of three teenagers get complicated when they discover a box of stolen walkie-talkies left behind by a gang of bank robbers...
DARK AGE (1987): Northern Territory wildlife ranger Steve Harris, a stoic survivor charged with conserving the ever diminishing crocodile population from encroaching hunters...

Alvin Purple (1973)
The film is a sex-farce which follows the misadventures of a naïve young Melbourne man Alvin Purple (Blundell) whom women find irresistible. Working in door to door sales, Alvin (unsuccessfully) tries to resist legions of women who want him. Alvin is so worn-out he seeks psychiatric help to solve his problems. His psychiatrist is, of course, a woman. Alvin ultimately falls in love with the one girl who doesn't throw herself at him. She becomes a nun, and Alvin ends up a gardener in the convent's gardens.

Alvin Rides Again (1974)
The irresistible Alvin Purple discovers he is identical in appearance to gangster Balls McGee. When Balls is killed, Alvin is forced to take his place.

Stork (1971)
Stork is a 1971 Australian comedy film directed by Tim Burstall. Stork is based on the play 'The Coming of Stork' by David Williamson. Bruce Spence and Jacki Weaver make their feature film debuts in Stork, being honoured at the 1972 Australian Film Awards, where they shared the acting prize. Stork won the prize for best narrative feature and Tim Burstall won for best direction. Stork was one of the first ocker comedies. Stork was the first commercial success of the Australian cinema revival. The film follows a group of people sharing a house in Carlton, Australia during the 1960s.

Number 96 (1974)
After a devastating experience at the hands of a group of bikies Vera Collins recovers at the home of socialite friend Claire Houghton where she meets distinguished politician Nicholas Brent. She is romanced by him and worries that her shady past may harm his career but abruptly calls off the affair after a shock meeting with his son Tony. Dorrie and Herb begin arrangements for the celebration of their Ruby wedding anniversary with Roma, Arnold, Norma and Dudley all crossing wires and duplicating tasks while attempting to help out and cut costs. However a shocking discovery by Flo threatens to halt the celebrations and brings a new man into Dorrie's life. Meanwhile Aldo struggles to work two jobs after accidentally losing the money he had secretly pocketed in the deli to avoid paying income tax on it, and Lucy is suitably unimpressed after Les ropes Alf into his latest money-spinner; a sauna in the building's basement. Simon Carr returns as Vera and Maggie's business partner, while they reminisce about their earlier feud over him it seems someone else has caught his eye: Don Finlayson. Having recovered from her breakdown Sonia Vansard returns to Number 96 with her new husband Duncan, though she seems continually nervous and flustered. She renews acquaintance with good friend Jack Sellars and befriends her new neighbour Diana Moore who Jack is also romancing, though after several bizarre incidents and forgetful episodes begins to question her sanity. Dorrie and Herb's wedding celebration, a sumptuous costume affair, is finally held, but Vera is shocked to discover a fearsome gate-crasher at the party.

BMX Bandits (1983)
Two BMX expert bikers and a friend of theirs (Kidman) become entangled with a group of bank robbers after discovering a carton of walkie-talkies.

Dark Age (1987)
In the Australian outback, a park ranger and two local guides set out to track down a giant crocodile that has been killing and eating the local populace. During the hunt, one of the guides discovers that he has an ESP connection to the giant creature.

In keeping with tradition, Umbrella Entertainment is proud to present the further adventures of Oz-ploitation cinema - with Volume 4, a veritable feast of classic B-films from the 70s and 80s, back when local movies exploded onto Australian screens with a bang and a bare bum, and maverick filmmakers served up a diet of murder, mayhem and full frontal nudity.
