Synopsis:
In October, 2007, Pasqual Maragall was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Once past the initial blow, he and his family embarked on a crusade against the disease. And from the very first step, this film has grown into an extraordinary testament. With intelligence, sincerity and an infectious spirit, Maragall allows a portrait to be painted of not only himself, but also his family and his doctors, in order to leave behind a lasting document of his personal fight. Two years of following an exceptional patient, one who is hoping scientists find a cure before the number of 26 million sufferers of this disease is multiplied by ten. A tough film, but an optimistic one all the same.

In Autumn 2007, Pasqual Maragall was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Following the harsh blow, he and his family set out on a crusade against the disease, with this film as their exceptional witness from the very outset. With intelligence, sincerity and good-nature, Maragall allows himself to be portrayed alongside his family and doctor in order to leave a record of his everyday personal struggle. Two years of monitoring an extraordinary patient who does what he can to help scientists find a cure before the 26 million sufferers worldwide multiply tenfold. A tough yet optimistic film in spite of it all.

Alzheimer's Disease has no cure and affects over 24 million people worldwide, a number that will quadruple within 10 years. This unique documentary blends human drama with science as it follows the life of born fighter Pasqual Maragall, the beloved politician who brought the Olympics to Barcelona, as he works with the leading doctors in the field to eradicate the disease, knowing he will never reap the benefits because he too is its victim.
