Synopsis:

The film centres on Marga (Hannelore Elsner), who is starting to lose her memory of the present while older recollections come back to life, and her daughter Sofia (Juliane Köhler). Through these memories, we get to know the young Marga (Karoline Herfurth), who is very different from the ageing woman of today.

The film is in different time periods, family history of Marga - played by Hannelore Elsner as old Marga 'and Karoline Herfurth as young Marga' - and their daughter Sofia, played by Juliane Köhler. Marga, is about to lose their memory and thus himself - only the memories of old times flashed every now and then, which is different from what their lives seemed to be long ago. Sofia currently allows only the truth about their own past. THE BLUE OF THE SKY is a story about the power of love and the power of forgiveness.
