Synopsis:
Let's imagine a beautiful, civilized and hard-working city in the North East of Italy. Let's imagine that this city has a high percentage of immigrant workers, all legally present and well integrated. And imagine, for example, that an industrialist and all-round good-time guy has fun putting on a racist show every day: hyperbole, wordplay, sarcastic quips, everything, absolutely everything, so politically incorrect that it becomes exhilarating. Let's imagine that one day the little show becomes reality, that the immigrants, invited to leave, decide to do just that. Forever.

A prosperous north Italian town wakes up to discover that all its immigrants have disappeared in Francesco Patierno's comically provocative but slight "Things From Another World," adapted from Sergio Arau's 2004 feature "A Day Without a Mexican".

What if ethnic groups of foreign origin suddenly disappeared from your country? This fantastic satire set in today's Italy boldly addresses immigration, the greatest issue facing 21st-century Europe.
