Synopsis:

Making oFF was initially the name of the making of of the horror french movie Devil Dark Week End, directed by Cédric Dupuis. The Movie was never made because all the staff prematurely died. Cédric Dupuis, a beginner in film directing, megalomaniac and eccentric wants to make 'the best horror movie ever, the perfect horror movie'. He explains his project and intentions as an artistic director to the camera and to his staff, composed of friends (Matthieu, Camille, Raphael, Jonathan, Arnaud) and girlfriend (Aline). Hand-held filming, he shows his universe, his relatives, the places he lives in and his ambitious dreams. One can watch his ultimate and steadfast method as an actor-producer-scenarist-director. Unfortunately, things go wrong since the beginning of the shooting of Devil Dark Week End. Cédric faces the problem of working with an unprofessional staff. The first rushes of his masterpiece appear to be a blending of a soap and a horror Z-movie. Having no choice than changing his artistic orientation and getting along with it, he loses faith. More and more criticized by his own staff, he becomes nervous and ended up accidentally killing his girlfriend.

As Cédric wants to film it all, the audience can't escape from sordid, grim and scabrous details. He uses the artistic and original dimension of his movie as an apology to commit murders and legitimate the gore. He is very inspired and methodic. Watching his project as a critic of the coarse and uninspired reality-shows, he makes the only documentary on a director who was overwhelmed by his project. Making oFF is the audiovisual state of the art of the perfect murder-director. Showing gore, scabrous, scato, and other surprising deviances until the inevitable end of Cédric Dupuis.
