Synopsis:
In director Hallvar Witzø's Oscar nominated short film, TUBA ATLANTIC, Oskar (Edvard Hægstad) learns that he has only 6 days left to live and - with help from Ingar (Ingrid Viken), the angelic caregiver sent to look after the old curmudgeon - decides to use his remaining days killing seagulls and accomplishing a childhood dream he had with his now estranged brother, who resides on the other side of the ocean in New Jersey. Not a moment wasted, the film is hilariously witty, incredibly poignant and deeply moving which, as you can imagine, are a lot of emotions to establish in the short 26 minute running time. These days most of our Hollywood pictures can't even achieve such a task as successfully and effortlessly as Witzø does here.

When elderly Norwegian fisherman Oskar is told that he has only a week to live, he is determined to put things right with his estranged brother, who now lives in New Jersey. A giant horn, built by the brothers when they were children, stands at the edge of the sea - will its sound reach across the ocean?

Everybody is going to die one day. Oskar (70) is going to die in 6 days. He is now ready to forgive his brother for a disagreement years ago. Will he reach his brother, who he believes lives on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, before it is too late?
