Synopsis:
Triple-bill of Hong Kong action maestro John Woo's earlier films, starring Chow Yun-Fat. In 'The Killer' (1989), a contract killer accidentally blinds a nightclub singer while blowing up some gangsters. Driven by guilt, he decides to take on more work to raise money for the singer's cornea transplant. At the same time, a maverick cop is on his trail, and as the two men shoot their way through hordes of gangsters they begin to develop a grudging respect for each other. In 'Once a Thief' (1990), Yun-Fat plays an orphan who has grown up with a family of thieves. After stealing a valuable painting for his foster father, he is double-crossed and forced into planning an elaborate heist with his sidekicks in order to recover the painting. Finally, 'Bullet in the Head' (1990) is an explosive war epic about three young brothers who escape from Hong Kong to Vietnam after geting involved with the triads. After trying to set up some criminal scams of their own, the brothers are accused by the North Vietnamese of being CIA spies. Imprisoned and tortured in a POW camp, the three brothers slowly tear each other apart in order to survive, and build up resentments that will come to a head when they finally make it back to Hong Kong.

Once A Thief (1990) They only stop to reload! A close-knit trio of dashing art thieves (Chow Yun-Fat, Leslie Cheung, and Cherie Chung) undertake one last lucrative job before their planned retirement, only to be torn apart when the heist goes awry as the result of a double-cross from their criminal mentor. Once reunited, the team resolves to get revenge.

Bullet In The Head (1990) Powerful, sweeping and uncompromising, John Woo pulls out all the stops to deliver a film of unforgettable intensity and emotional gravity that is guaranteed to set the pulse racing with some of the finest action sequences of his distinguished career. When three longtime friends (Tony Leung, Jacky Cheung and Waise Lee) become involved in the death of a rival gang member, they are forced to leave Hong Kong in order to escape the police. Their only ticket out is a free ride to Saigon working as smugglers on the black market. But it is the late 1960s and, with Saigon embroiled in the madness of the Vietnamese war, it's very much a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When their plans to double-cross a local gangster and steal a box of gold from him go awry, the men find themselves captured by the Viet Cong and accused of working for the CIA. Incarcerated in a prisoner of war camp, their loyalties are tested to the very limit when one of the trio sets about betraying his closest friends...

The Killer (1989) Hong Kong's preeminent director John Woo transforms genres from both the East and the West to create this explosive and masterful action film. Featuring Hong Kong's greatest star Chow Yun-Fat as a killer with a conscience trying to pay for an operation to restore the sight of a nightclub singer he accidentally blinded in a shootout, the film is an exquisite dissection of morals in a corrupt society, highlighted with slow-motion sequences of brilliantly choreographed gun battles on the streets of Hong Kong...

Bullet in the Head (1990)
In 1967, on the way to the wedding of a friend a young man is accosted by a local gang member. Later, the three friends administer justice, in the process of which the gang member is killed, so they leave Hong Kong to avoid the police and the gang. They run black market supplies to Saigon and get embroiled in the war, being arrested as Viet Cong, then later captured by the Viet Cong, and find that their friendship is tested to the limits as they try to escape.

Once a Thief (1991)
Once a Thief is an action/comedy/romance movie involving the plight of three master thieves (in the mode of Pink Panther). All three were raised by the same father and in fact were most certainly street orphans. The story begins with a successful art heist followed by a pledge to make this the last crime ever for the trio. The plot revolves around the theft of a mysterious 'cursed' painting and how its obsession affects the family.

The Killer (1989)
Jeffrey is an assassin who wishes to leave the business so he can take care of Jennie, the beautiful lounge singer who he inadvertently blinded during a previous assignment. Li Ying is the determined cop who will stop at nothing to bring him in, only he realizes that Jeffrey is no ordinary assassin, and wishes to help him in his quest. Only problem is that Jeffrey's employers refuse to pay him for his last job, money which is needed to restore Jennie's eyesight.
